Stu's Birthday!

November 9, 2009

Stu turned 26 this year!  I know, it's hard to believe since he still looks like he's in his late teens huh?  I tried to make his day fun by doing little things throughout the day, in-between all of our classes.  When he got home from his first class I surprised him with Nutella Ice Cream Pancakes which were pretty yummy.  Then after he left for class again I decorated the apartment and left him a birthday card.

When I got home from class that night at about 5 we got all ready and went to Chili's where he got the White Chocolate Lava Cake that he just loves.  Last, when we got home that night, I surprised him with his favorite dessert of all time, a Haupia Pie from Ted's Bakery.  I'm so grateful for Stu and what an amazing husband he is.  He is my everything and I love to spend every second of my time with him.  We do everything together and I still can never get enough of him.  I love you Honey!

A Fun Night at the Fall Ball

So my adorable husband surprised me with tickets to the Fall Ball after totally making me believe that we weren't going.  He sent me on a scavenger hunt where I evetually found a cute sign that said "My most beautiful Amber, will you go to Fall Ball with me?"  and it was covered wit Rolos and a big Hershey Kiss.

We got all dressed up and drove to the Alamoana Hotel where we first had dinner and then the dance began.  The dinner was pretty good, my favorite part was the taro rolls and hot chocolate, and Stu's was the guava cake and most especially the haupia cake.  We were so glad we were able to sit by 2 of the 8 married couples that were there from our ward.  Stu made the whole night so much fun!  He was such a fun dance partner and by the end of the night my jaw hurt from smiling so much.

Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve

September 17th was my first day at BYU Hawaii and the first day of Stu's last year.  I'm continuing on in my Elementary Education major and I finish classes this spring.  Next Fall I'll do my Student Teaching and then I'll graduate that December.  Stu will graduate this April in Information Technology with a minor in Computer Information Systems.  We're both enjoying BYU-H and we're also both happy to be nearing the end.  Midterms are coming up so we better get studying!

The Big Move

It was bright and early on the fifth of August when Stu and I got on that plane and made the flight to Hawaii.  It was such a bittersweet thing to say goodbye to our loved ones and start out on our own as a married couple.  We had been staying with my family for a few weeks and sharing my twin bed that I'd gotten back in 4th grade since we'd been married while I finished up working as a teller so we were very ready to be able to have our own place, but it was hard to say goodbye.

We made it to Oahu late that night and drove straight to our little studio at TVA (Temple View Apartments).  We unloaded all of our stuff from the car, pulled out the necessities, and crashed for our first night together in our own place.

We finished up our humble abode over the next few days and got everything we needed.  We then had a month and a half before school started so it was like an extended honeymoon!  We just went to the beach and played for the next little while.  It was so awesome to have some time together before classes and homework started keeping us away from each other.

Honeymoon- Mexican Riviera Cruise

We had the best honeymoon ever!  The day after our wedding we flew to L.A. and boarded Royal Caribbean's 2nd largest ship as of right now, it was 15 decks.  Our cruise was a whole week and we had such a fun time.  As soon as we boarded we were dumbfounded at how beautiful and big our ship was.  Here are some things that the ship offered, just to name a few: rock climbing, mini-golf, ice-skating, 2 large pools and 6 hot tubs, a theater, magic shows, and a LOT of good food.  That was probably mine and Stu's favorite part of being on the ship.  Whether we went to the all-you-can-eat cafe or the fine dining, we always enjoyed what we were eating.  Stu also had a lot of fun taking pictures of some of the beautiful plates we had at the fine dining which you can check out in our honeymoon album.

Once we left the dock in L.A. we were on our way to Cabo San Lucas.  We had fun touring this city and kayaking out on the ocean.  The next stop was Mazatlan where we joined this other LDS couple that we sat by every time we went to the fine dining.  They had looked online for a spa so we all went and got massages for a great price.  This was the first time Stu and I had ever had a massage and we definitely enjoyed it.  Our last stop was Puerto Vallarta where we were surprised by how Americanized part of this city was; the first thing we saw when we looked out our window was Walmart and Sam's Club!  We had a ton of fun here because we spent all of our time on this long zip line that took us through the beautiful canopies of the jungle.  We had so much fun and we were so lucky to have had the great experience!  We highly recommend cruises to anyone, and specifically Royal Caribbean; they were the best!

Once Upon a Time...

Stu and I were sealed for time and all eternity in the Timpanogos Temple on July 11th, 2009.  Our wedding day was perfect in every way- perfect weather, everything was timed perfectly, and everything went according to plan, but it would've meant nothing without all of the wonderful support that we received from our loved ones that day.  We were overwhelmed with gratitude for all of the incredible blessings given to us that day and all of those who put so much work into making that day perfect for us.  Thank you to all who joined us for the happiest day of our lives!

The Beginning of the Blogging

I finally did it!  After receiving many requests from friends and family members to start a blog about my perfect life, I figured that since Stu and I have been married for over 3 months I'd better get on top of it and start one, so here it is.  I'm still learning the basics so please have a little patience and bear with me as I get blogging all figured out.  Thanks for reading!
